about Jared and Stephanie

3 years ago we started on a journey that moved us to Japan! Welcome to our blog, we hope that this will be able to keep you updated on all we are doing and how God is working in Nagoya.

Jared and I met at Ozark Christian College and were married May 24th, 2008. After 5 months of marriage we went and visited some friends of ours, who were working with Mustard Seed Global Fellowship  in Nagoya Japan. After visiting and talking with the leaders we were asked if we would like to join the work here. Much thought and prayer was put into making this decision considering we were at a church and working with a youth ministry we loved.  But, God had a plan for us. Jared and I both share a passion to reach those who have never heard the name of Christ, a love for large cities where the gospel can spread rapidly, and a desire to see new churches planted where there were no churches before. God alone is worthy to be worshipped in all nations and from all peoples. Our prayer is that God would take a few small people (our team) and grow His kingdom in a place that has never heard the gospel before. Hence the name Mustard Seed. Thank you for taking the time to keep up to date on our lives and ministry. We would appreciate your prayers for the people of Japan, for the two churches MSGF planted in Nagoya and Osaka, and for us personally that we would show the love of Christ to everyone we meet.

In September 2011 God blessed Jared and I with a son, Micaiah, who is a sweet and energetic little guy. He’ll show up on our blog occasionally as well. Life as a Christian, urban, foreigner mom has its crazy times and I would love to share those stores with you all!
